Stories That Stand Up, Speak Out, and Refuse to Be Silenced

When I settled into my seat at the Bentonville Film Festival this year, I knew I was about to see a documentary about librarians, free speech, and book bans.

What I didn’t expect was to feel the ground shift beneath me.

The Librarian is not just a film it’s a mirror. A mirror turned toward some of the most painful and powerful realities of our time: the politicization of education, the weaponization of fear, and the bravery of ordinary people who refuse to back down when their community needs them most.

Watching this film in a room full of artists, students, teachers, activists, and everyday neighbors reminded me why stories matter. They tell the truth long after institutions try to hide it. They shine light in places some would rather keep in the dark.

And they give courage to those who need it most.

Tickets are now on sale for the 2026 BFF. Don’t miss this chance to connect with the people who make film happen.
