This year marked a special milestone — the 5th anniversary of the American Cancer Society’s Suits & Sneakers Gala. What began as a creative way to blend fun, fashion, and philanthropy has become one of Northwest Arkansas’s most heartfelt annual celebrations of hope, health, and community.
The evening, sponsored by Hershey Salty Snacks and Reese’s, was filled with energy, laughter, and purpose. Guests arrived ready to celebrate, learn, and give — because nearly everyone in the room had been touched by cancer in some way.
A Night of Impact and Inspiration
In 2021 alone, more than $3 million was raised to remove barriers to cancer care. This year’s event continued that mission through transportation grants, helping patients access vital treatment and care.
A highlight of the night was the Mission Moment, where stories were shared about the real people behind the numbers — individuals and families navigating diagnosis, treatment, and recovery with courage and grace. Donations during this moment ranged from $1,000 to $10,000, reflecting deep compassion and the power of community.
Fun, Fashion, and Generosity
From a spirited live auction featuring customized vehicle packages and Tito’s vodka bottles to the sneaker awards and fashion show finale, the event balanced elegance with energy. Mystery jewelry boxes added a playful twist, while the Students & Sneakers contest connected younger generations to the cause in a meaningful way.
A Shared Reminder
Beyond the glitz and giving, the night was a reminder to stay proactive with health screenings, advocate for yourself and others, and show up for those whose lives have been affected by cancer. Together, we can continue building a world where every patient feels supported and every survivor celebrated.
As one speaker shared so poignantly:
“We are here because cancer has touched us all — but so has hope.”
Be well. Be kind.
