The Fayetteville Committee for Mardi Gras is thrilled to present the 32nd Anniversary of Fayetteville Mardi Gras! This year’s celebration benefits Canopy NWA, supporting a great cause while embracing the vibrant spirit of Mardi Gras.
The events for this year start with the annual Fat Saturday Parade of Fools in downtown Fayetteville on March 1st. The parade features costumes, floats, music, and beads, beads, beads! This family-friendly event is fun to watch and even more fun to participate in. Bring your friends and family and join the fun. The parade will begin at 2:00 pm on the Fayetteville square and proceed north on Block St., turn west on Dickson St., and south to end at the intersection of West and Dickson.
The fun continues on Saturday as the revelers will gather at George’s Majestic Lounge for an after-party, where the new Royalty will be crowned, and a check will be presented to Canopy NWA. This will be followed by the Funkytown Ball, held this year at The Leroy Lounge, where guests will enjoy a gumbo dinner and dancing.
This year the Committee for Mardi Gras is bringing back their Fat Tuesday festivities with the first annual Fat Tuesday Pub & Grub Crawl. Held on March 4th in the Dickson Street Entertainment District, this will be a more traditional pub crawl than in years past, but with the exciting addition of food establishments as well as bars. But just because it’s a more traditional crawl, it will be anything but traditional. Costumed revelers from krewes will be following a lively band that will join the festivities, and will bring a real Fat Tuesday party – and beads – to the streets.
