On May 22, the Mount Sequoyah community came together to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of a beautiful new public space—the Mount Sequoyah Overlook. This moment marked the completion of a collaborative effort years in the making, highlighting what’s possible when creativity, dedication, and community spirit align.
The design and build of the space was made possible thanks to the incredible work of Natural State Treehouses, who brought vision to reality with thoughtful construction and craftsmanship. Their attention to detail helped transform the overlook into a welcoming and accessible gathering place for all.
Key contributors made this project shine:
- White River Rocks provided boulders and natural materials for the landscape.
- Westwood Gardens added beautiful greenery to the space.
- Cox Mobile generously funded a public mural.
- The Sprague Endowment supported the installation of benches that serve as both seating and planters.
- Modus Studio led the design efforts with sleek metal elements.
- Two Track Development provided consultative and project management services.
- New Generation Home Improvement ensured the entire space was ADA accessible.
During the event, Mayor Molly Rawn proclaimed May 22, 2025, as Mount Sequoyah Overlook Day!
A mural by artist Timothy Robert Smith, developed in partnership with the Project for Public Space, was unveiled as a centerpiece. Featuring iconic locations throughout Fayetteville, the artwork invites visitors to reflect on how deeply rooted Mount Sequoyah is in our collective memory and hopes for the future.
